David Sullivan can save West Ham United season with exciting Julen Lopetegui replacement

David Sullivan can save West Ham United’s season by appointing Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeness to replace Julen Lopetegui.

After a less than impressive start to the campaign, it was reported by The Guardian that West Ham have held internal talks over the sacking of Lopetegui.

Not only this, but “internal checks” have already been made of other managers with Hoeness being one of the names on the list.

With fixtures against Newcastle United and Arsenal up next, Lopetegui could find himself out of work in a matter of time.

Hoeness the man to take West Ham forward

It’s no secret that the Irons are not happy with their start to the season having won just three of their opening games and if they are going to revive themselves, a change has to be made sooner rather than later.

Hoeness is a name that has been brought up in regards to the Hammers job before with links to the 42-year-old even being reported back in April. With this in mind, there must be a reason why Sullivan is coming back to him and a feeling that he could have an impact at the London Stadium.

Since his arrival at Stuttgart in April 2023, Hoeness has taken the side to the Champions League showing he is a coach that knows what it takes to take a side into a European competition.

Currently sitting just five points above the relegation zone, Hammers fans are no doubt just longing for consistency in their side which can lead them to safety this season.

However, bringing the German to the club now would put in place good foundations for a long-term plan which could see West Ham look ahead to another European football campaign.

In other West Ham news, the club have been linked with a transfer move for midfielder Josh Brownhill from Burnley.
