Chelsea forward Armando Broja a smart move for West Ham during January transfer window
Chelsea’s Armando Broja is the latest striker to be linked with a move to the London Stadium as West Ham continue their search for some much-needed firepower.
According to FootballTransfers (11 December), the Hammers are leading the race to sign the Chelsea striker, with several Premier Clubs reportedly interested.
His potential could totally outweigh the cost if given a chance to thrive in the top tier of English football, and West Ham could be the perfect suitor as the club calls out for a “proper” number nine.

While the Albanian youngster experienced a successful loan at Southampton during the 2021/22 season, Broja has struggled to become a regular at Stamford Bridge after graduating from Cobham Training Centre, albeit a serious knee injury hindered his progress.
Nine goals in 38 appearances for the prospect was only two shy of his loan spell at Vitesse in the Netherlands, proving his goalscoring ability at a top level.
West Ham have had well-documented problems landing a top striker, including Gianluca Scamacca who lasted just one season before returning to Serie A with Atalanta.
David Moyes is begging for a natural goalscorer to depend on as he looks to take the Londoners to the next level. The injury to Michail Antonio and the lack of form of Danny Ings has led the manager to deploy Jarrod Bowen up front this season.

Despite the attacking talent in Divin Mubama at Moyes’ disposal, the 19-year-old is more than often utilised off the bench and it seems like his contract situation may not be solved anytime soon.
West Ham have been without a 20-goal-a-season striker since the 2004/05 season when Marlon Harewood netted 22 goals in the Championship.
A move to the Hammers will be an attractive offer for Broja, one very difficult to turn down with very limited game time under Mauricio Pochettino. And it could solve a striker problem West Ham have suffered with for years.
In other West Ham news, Aston Villa want to sign an international Hammers player and things aren’t going well for him currently.
