Jamie Carragher clearly hasn’t done his research ahead of Aston Villa versus West Ham United.
Graham Potter lost his first match in charge of the Hammers against this weekend’s opponents in the FA Cup (10 January) and will travel to Villa Park in the Premier League on Sunday (26 January).
After referee Tim Robinson stole the limelight in the FA Cup for his “blatant” error in awarding the hosts a corner, leading to the Villa equaliser, the Irons will be eager for revenge this time.
However, Carragher predicts an identical 2-1 win for Aston Villa in his Premier League predictions for Sky Sports Super 6 (23 January) – a rather foolish decision given what Opta Joe revealed about the fixture.
West Ham have not lost home and away to Villa in a single season in the league in 14 years, and they also boast a half-decent record at Villa Park.
