Callum Wilson’s top five Newcastle goals as West Ham transfer escalates
Callum Wilson could finally end up as a West Ham player this summer.
Wilson has been one of the Premier League’s most dangerous strikers when he is available and the Hammers are in desperate need of a clinical forward.
A report from Sky Sports (23 July) claims that the Irons are in talks with the 33-year-old’s entourage over a free transfer.
West Ham Zone takes a look at the Englishman’s best goals for Newcastle ahead of a potential move to the London Stadium.

Crystal Palace 1-1 Newcastle – 23 October 2021
The first goal on the list is perhaps the best of the lot.
Newcastle were second best against Crystal Palace, but Wilson popped up to score a wonderful goal and spare their blushes.
Wilson pounced on Emil Kratfth’s flick on and produced a stunning overhead kick to earn his side a point.
Newcastle 1-0 Burnley – 4 December 2021
The first goal on the list is a typical Wilson strike, as he refused to give the chance up before eventually slotting the ball into the net.
Current Magpies keeper Nick Pope was in goal for Burnley that day, and he fumbled the ball into his future teammate when he failed to collect a cross.
Wilson took the ball wide and smashed it past three defenders to give his side their first win of the 2021/22 campaign.
West Ham 1-5 Newcastle – 5 April 2023
One of his finest efforts came against the East London club, who are now trying to sign him.
It was a typical Wilson goal as he positioned himself perfectly in the box from Allan Saint-Maximin’s cross and headed home past Lukasz Fabianski.
Given the pace on the ball, it would have been easy to miss despite how close it was to the goal, but he made no mistake.
He has notched 12 goals in 16 matches against the Hammers, so it will be a relief to not be up against him anymore if he signs.
Everton – Newcastle – 28 April 2023
Wilson scored a brace against Everton and scored one of the finest goals of his career in the process.
He picked up the ball from Bruno Guimaraes on the edge of the box and produced a stunning curling effort.
Jordan Pickford was left helpless in the Toffees’ goal as he watched the ball sail into the roof of the net.
Newcastle 4-1 Burnley – 4 May 2024
Wilson’s last Premier League goal came in the dying embers of the 2023/24 season.
He was on hand to tap home the opener against the Clarets after Alexander Isak’s shot had been parried away by James Trafford.
It was another typical Wilson strike as he was in the right place at the right time to get his name on the scoresheet.
