Callum Marshall fires warning to West Ham United duo Michail Antonio and Danny Ings after stunning 24 hours

West Ham United have impressed this season, with striker Michail Antonio enjoying a fine individual campaign so far.

His goals and hold up play have kept Danny Ings out of the starting XI, with the latter largely forced to focus on Europa League football instead of Premier League action.

Young striker Divin Mubama meanwhile has impressed when given the chance in his brief time in claret and blue so far, but he may just fall behind another young star in the pecking order soon, with Callum Marshall firing a warning to his fellow strikers.

As per the official West Ham website (5 October), the 18-year-old has been shortlisted for the Premier League 2 (PL2) Player of the Month award for September.

The nomination comes thanks to his “electric form” (official West Ham website) throughout the month, with the teenager netting four goals in three PL2 matches.

And the recognition came just 24 hours after the youngster was once again recognised by his country, with Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill recalling the youngster to the national team squad (official Irish Football Association website, 4 October).

Such fine achievements could not have come at a better time for the young striker, with the Hammers set to be without Antonio for their upcoming matches against SC Freiburg and Newcastle United due to injury, according to Sky Sports (4 October).

With 12 goals in nine appearances in all competitions this season, Marshall is certainly banging on the door, and he may just leave first team manager David Moyes with no option but to hand him a debut if the stunning performances continue.
