Axel Disasi drops hint on potential permanent West Ham move already

Despite barely playing football in the six months before joining West Ham, Axel Disasi has hit the ground running in E20.

The Frenchman had been left in the dark at Chelsea, forced to train on his own since August, so questions were certainly going to be raised on how he would integrate back into the demands of Premier League football.

Those questions have been answered early, with signs that Disasi can be a key player in West Ham’s hopes of avoiding relegation during his loan spell.

However, with his early performances, the signs are there that he can be a quality centre-back for West Ham right now and in the future.

If the on-loan Chelsea man is a player that the Hammers want to keep around, Disasi may have already dropped a hint on his answer to that possibility.

What has Axel Disasi said about West Ham?

Nuno Espirito Santo needed another centre-back after Igor Julio’s loan deal was cut short, and the Brazilian headed back to Brighton.

Disasi was the man targeted to replace Igor, and in truth, with his lack of game time, it was quite the risk by the Irons.

So far, that risk has paid off, with the loanee impressing throughout the early stages of his time at London Stadium.

Those performances could now lead West Ham to enquire about a permanent move for Disasi in the summer, and it looks like that would be welcomed by the French defender based on his latest comments.

Speaking to West Ham’s Iron Cast, Disasi said the following: “I can feel that that is like a family, and I love feeling that.”

For a player who has struggled to get minutes over the last year, the idea of coming into a club which provides that feeling will be reassuring and could point towards his ambitions for the summer window.

Disasi will not want to lose that after a tumultuous time at London rivals Chelsea, and that could hand the Hammers an opportunity in securing his permanent signature.

Of course, if West Ham do get relegated, Disasi may opt to move elsewhere and stay within top-flight football.

How much would Chelsea want for Axel Disasi?

In the summer, Chelsea were reportedly asking for £26million for Disasi, according to L’Equipe.

However, with the Blues struggling to find a permanent buyer, that price tag could now drop in the upcoming window.

The Stamford Bridge outfit will not want to keep the out-of-favour defender on their books much longer and may opt to drop their demands in order to do so.

If Disasi also pushes for a permanent move to East London, then the Hammers will have a further advantage in negotiations.

A deal is certainly there to do if Nuno can avoid relegation this season, and perhaps a price somewhere between £15m and £20 million could be discussed.
