Angelo Ogbonna slowly getting back to his best, West Ham United exit in summer likely
West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna has been a great servant for the club, and he is still showing why he is such a valuable player.
The 34-year-old defender is in his final year at the club, and chances are high that he won’t be offered a new deal.
Since joining the Hammers in 2015, he has made over 215 appearances in all competitions. Last season, he managed only 11 appearances, as his season was disrupted following an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

It has taken time for him to recover, and he is gradually getting back to his old best.
He has made 14 appearances so far, including four starts in the Premier League. In the absence of Kurt Zouma, he has partnered alongside Nayef Aguerd, and has looked top-class.
The Atheltic journalist, Roshane Thomas wrote on Twitter that Ogbonna’s performance has gone under the radar, he is absolutely spot on with his assessment.
Against Newcastle, he made two interceptions and three clearances, according to Who scored, and proved a point that why experiences still matter.
He was brilliant against Derby County as well, he was on a different level in the 2-0 win over Everton.

Ogbonna defied his age with a top-quality performance where he made 15 clearances [Who scored], and was colossal at the back.
Needless to say, his solid presence at the back has played a big role in West Ham’s revival, if we can call it a revival.
Obviously, the club should think forward, and allow Ogbonna to leave next summer. But considering the form he is in, Moyes should stick with him and Aguerd at the back.
The pair is completing each other perfectly, and long it may continue.
