Airidas Golambeckis’ dream week continues amid developments away from West Ham

Airidas Golambeckis is a name for West Ham supporters to keep an eye on in the near future.

West Ham announced that Golambeckis has signed a new deal to keep him in East London until at least 2029.

Golambeckis has been training with the senior West Ham team as Nuno Espirito Santo seeks to add fresh impetus to his ranks.

Now, his dream week looks set to continue after an announcement away from the London Stadium.

West Ham gem Golambeckis subject of new announcement

Golambeckis is one of the most promising talents at West Ham, and his ability has been recognised by the England set-up too.

The 18-year-old has been called up to the England Under-19s squad for the UEFA European U19 Championship qualifiers later this month, in another milestone to add to his dream week so far.

The Hammers Under-21s captain has featured five times for Will Antwi’s side this campaign after impressing in the Under-18s last season.

What has Mark Noble said about Golambeckis?

Golambeckis‘ quality is well known at Rush Green, as he is just 18 and is the skipper of the Under-21 team.

Sporting director and Irons legend, Mark Noble, is a huge fan of the Lithuanian-born Young Lions ace, and he made it known after he signed the new contract.

Speaking via the club’s official media, he said: “He’s a great kid and a top player. Being captain of our U21s team at such a young age is a real honour, but he’s still got loads to learn.

He’s another one that we’ve got real high hopes for. We would like to see him in our first-team squad soon and I really believe he’s got a chance.”

Freddie Potts has already shown that the Hammers need to utilise their academy recently, and Golambeckis is another player who is synonymous with the ‘West Ham Way’ that the club need to get back to.

He has supported the E20 club all his life, and that is exactly the kind of player that the fans love, and in his case, it is especially true, considering he already has endorsement from Noble.

Golambeckis may only be a matter of time from breaking into Nuno’s side, if he continues to progress in the way that he has in the past week.
