WHZ View: West Ham handed boost as Belotti set to leave Torino for free

West Ham United have been regularly linked with Torino striker Andrea Belotti for a while now, and Fabrizio Romano has a fresh update.

According to the transfer expert, the Italian international, 27, is set to leave the Serie A outfit when his contract expires at the end of the season having made the decision not to sign an extension.

Romano posted the information on his official Twitter account this morning.

He said: “Italian striker Andrea Belotti is prepared to leave Torino as a free agent in June.

“Torino manager Ivan Juric confirms: “Belotti won’t sign the contract extension”.

“Andrea is not going to leave in January. He’ll decide his future in June”, Juric added.”

WestHamFans.org claimed earlier this month that the club are lining up a deal for Belotti, and the latest development is definitely a huge transfer boost.

David Moyes has not been able to sign a striker in the last two transfer windows, and it remains to be seen if one will be landed in January.

However, the Hammers boss will most likely join the race for the Torino star next summer when he becomes a free agent.

Michail Antonio will be 32 next March, and he does not have a lot of years left despite his recent form and impressive level of fitness.

Next summer will be the perfect time to bring in a long-term replacement, and landing Belotti for nothing will be huge.

West Ham

He has scored a goal in three league appearances this term after getting involved in 19 league goals last term.

The former Palermo striker has hit double figures every season since 2015-16, with 93 goals in 213 Serie A games for Torino to his name.

He is capable of scoring with both feet and his head, and West Ham would strike gold if they manage to pip fierce competition to his signature.

In other West Ham news, Jack Wilshere has predicted major Hammers exit, but reckons one goal would stop it.
