WHZ View: West Ham could face transfer blow in Layvin Kurzawa chase

West Ham could face a big transfer blow in the race to sign Layvin Kurzawa in the January window.

Lazio are now said to have opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a move for the Frenchman, according to reports from Le 10 Sport.

The 29-year-old has struggled for games this season, and he is looking for a move away from PSG in January.

West Ham

The French international joined PSG in 2015 and has won four league titles with them.

He signed a contract at the club last season that will keep him at PSG till 2024.

However, he is yet to play a single game in the league this season under Mauricio Pochettino, and he plans to leave in January.

Lazio are looking to sign him on loan with a view to make it permanent next summer, and the news will come as a blow for the Hammers.

Earlier this week, Foot Mercato claimed the Hammers are one of the clubs interested in signing him.

West Ham

To be fair, the interest in Kurzawa has come as a big surprise.

West Ham already have Aaron Cresswell as a solid left-back, while Ben Johnson has progressed superbly from the academy set-up.

Arthur Masuaku may not have enjoyed a memorable season so far, but he is a reliable squad player.

Unless West Ham want to ship Masuaku out, it’s highly unlikely they would move for the Frenchman, especially when reinforcement is needed elsewhere.

In other West Ham news, an amazing attacker is making personal arrangements for Hammers switch in January.
