WHZ View: Soucek the super Czech – West Ham predicted XI v Liverpool
West Ham play host to Liverpool on Sunday at the London Stadium in what will be a huge clash for both clubs.
After the midweek results, including our 3-2 win at Selhurst Park, the Irons and the Champions are separated by just two points in the table.
Victory in East London will see the Hammers leapfrog Jurgen Klopp’s men and go back into the Champions League spaces as the race for Europe begins to heat up.
Our visitors got back to winning ways on Thursday evening, thumping Spurs 3-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Reds hadn’t won in the league since December 19th prior to that.
A win will push us onto 38 points after 21 matches played in the Premier League this season and be our seventh win on the bounce in all competitions.
West Ham Zone expect David Moyes to name the following team to face the Reds:
In goal is likely to be Lukasz Fabianski. He’ll be looking to keep his 70th clean sheet in the top-flight on what will be his 264th Premier League appearance.
We expect no changes to the back four despite conceding twice against Crystal Palace.
Aaron Cresswell picked up his fifth assist of the season last time out, the most in the league for a defender.
He’ll likely start along with Angelo Ogbonna, our previous match-winner Craig Dawson, and Vladimir Coufal.
Our midfield anchors could once again be the captain Declan Rice and our super Czech, Tomas Soucek. He made it seven league goals for the season in our last game, becoming our top scorer.
Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals are predicted to flank Said Benrahma in a front three. All three players were fantastic against Palace. Benrahma’s loan deal was made permanent today, he’ll be looking to get his first goal for the club to mark the occasion.
Leading the line is likely to be Michail Antonio. Having hit the post twice and missing a sitter in the second half, you’d imagine our number 30 will be hungry to make amends on Sunday.
A goal will see him climb above Carlton Cole to 42 goals in the league for the Hammers, five behind the maverick Paolo Di Canio.
In other West Ham news, speaking of Di Canio, was he the best to ever do it for West Ham?
