What Sean Dyche has already said about West Ham discontent as surprise appointment talks held
Sean Dyche has been shortlisted as a potential replacement for Graham Potter at West Ham.
West Ham’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham has forced the hierarchy to take action, with potential new managers being sounded out.
Kieran McKenna was at the London Stadium to witness the defeat and has been linked with the job should it become vacant.
However, the Hammers appear to be prioritising a new boss with more Premier League experience, and Dyche fits the bill.

Sean Dyche felt his Everton side could have capitalised on West Ham’s discontent
Nuno Espirito Santo has also been linked to West Ham after he was sacked by Nottingham Forest earlier in September.
However, if the Irons want to escape a relegation dogfight and stay up, Dyche could be preferred, having kept Burnley and Everton in the top flight for multiple seasons.
It has been reported by talkSPORT that Dyche is being discussed by the West Ham board, as is Slaven Bilic in a surprise update.
Potter’s side have struggled in a similar vein to the way Julen Lopetegui’s side wavered at the start of the 2024/25 campaign.
Following West Ham’s 0-0 draw with Everton last season, Dyche felt that his side could have taken advantage of the situation in East London.
“There’s a lot of noise at [West Ham] at the moment, which affected the game. It’s another point and clean sheet on the road. With a little bit more in the final third, we’d have had more points this season,” he said.

“We had pockets where I thought we were a threat. A lot of our game was good today. We opened up the game when we could and defended resolutely when we had to.
“We just need a bit of devil in the final third and a bit of devil in the box, but it’s not easy in the Premier league.”
Who should West Ham prioritise to replace Graham Potter?
Three names have so far stood out to take over from Potter at the London Stadium.
Former Hammers favourite Bilic has been lined up as a potential option alongside Nuno and Dyche.
- Dyche had a win percentage of 31% at Everton
 - Bilic won just 36% of his games for Al-Fateh
 - Nuno had a 38% win rate in charge of Nottingham Forest

While the Croatian is still loved in East London, reappointing him would make no sense after he has had five different spells at five different clubs since leaving the Irons.
Equally, Dyche’s dip in form with Everton last season and questions regarding his style of play don’t make him a preferable candidate.
The favourite will surely be Nuno, given his outstanding progress with Forest over the last two years in the East Midlands.
