What games Konstantinos Mavropanos will miss for West Ham as ‘serious’ injury blow revealed
Konstantinos Mavropanos is set for an extended period of time on the injury table, after suffering an injury against Brentford.
West Ham lost 2-0 to Brentford in Nuno Espirito Santo‘s first match in the dugout at the London Stadium, but the result was not the only blow on the night.
Mavropanos had been brought on at half-time, but could only spend 40 minutes on the pitch before he pulled up with what looked like a hamstring injury.
Nuno gave an update on Mavropanos before the Leeds United match, and confirmed that the defender was to undergo a scan on the injury.
Those results now look to have surfaced, with the Hammers’ worst fears reportedly realised.

Konstantinos Mavropanos suffers ‘serious hamstring tear’
Mavropanos was reportedly wanted by AC Milan, among other clubs, in the summer, although a bid never materialised.
And the Hammers would have been glad, with the defender emerging this season among the most reliable of Nuno’s options in the centre of defence.
The former Tottenham boss will now have to learn to cope with life without the 27-year-old, however.
West Ham Zone revealed that Mavropanos was facing up to a month out of action, and that report was backed up on Monday.
The West Ham Way report that the Greece international has suffered a serious hamstring tear, and will be on the injury table for around four-to-six weeks.
What games will Mavropanos miss?
Unfortunately for Nuno and West Ham, Mavropanos’ injury has come ahead of an extremely difficult run of Premier League fixtures.
Even the best-case scenario should see the defender miss West Ham’s next four games, which include the visits of Newcastle United, Burnley and Liverpool, and the trip to Bournemouth.
| West Ham – fixtures | Date |
| Newcastle United (H) | 2 Nov |
| Burnley (H) | 8 Nov |
| Bournemouth (A) | 22 Nov |
| Liverpool (H) | 30 Nov |
| Manchester United (A) | 4 Dec |
| Brighton (A) | 7 Dec |
| Aston Villa (H) | 14 Dec |
| Manchester City (A) | 20 Dec |
Past that, and Mavropanos could be absent as the Hammers travel to Manchester United and Brighton, before welcoming in-form side Aston Villa to the London Stadium.
Should the 27-year-old make a quick return to fitness following the six weeks, Mavropanos could be in line to return to the squad as West Ham take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
The blow will be extremely hard on Nuno, with both Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo already under fire for their dismal recent performances.
