Andy Gray shares why he believes West Ham United supporters want David Moyes sacked

Andy Gray believes West Ham supporters want to see the back of David Moyes due to his playing style.

The West Ham fanbase is growing restless on the back of seven-game winless run in all competitions to begin 2024.

The Irons have exited the FA Cup to lower-tier opposition and been on the end of heavy losses to Manchester United and Arsenal in that run.

Moyes is out of contract at the end of the campaign and whether or not he stays on is a highly divisive issue.

“We know Moyes well,” Gray said on beIN SPORTS [11 February, 4:03pm]. “I don’t like to say this, but I’m going to.

“Do you think Hammers fans look at the way David plays his football and think ‘we don’t want to see our football played like this?'”

Co-host Richard Keys added: “If there was any doubts in the minds of David Sullivan and the board beforehand, this might just tip them.

“They did it with Big Sam. They didn’t offer him a deal and in the end he just walked.”

Arsenal loss could be start of endgame for Moyes at West Ham

Those supporters who backed Moyes to sign a new deal in December time will perhaps be revising those thoughts a couple of months on.

Results have stagnated badly and there is no sign of any sort of improvement as far as performances go.

The 6-0 crushing at the hands of Arsenal felt like a decisive moment in many ways, as nobody would be able to argue if the club announced Moyes is not staying on.

David Sullivan has come under criticism from the fans during his time at West Ham

The Scotsman deserves respect for the work he has done at London Stadium and he could yet add another trophy to the cabinet before the season is out.

Right now, though, it seems like the best choice for everybody is to then go our separate ways come the summer time.

And if a manager like Graham Potter, who has a very defined style of play, is available come then, that seems like a great shout.
