West Ham Women Expert predicts 3-0 loss vs Arsenal
We’re delighted to welcome Michelle Irons as our exclusive West Ham Women’s expert. Each week she’ll be giving her views on the biggest talking points at Victoria Road…
Michelle Irons is predicting a defeat for West Ham Women when they travel to face Women’s Super League leaders Arsenal on Sunday.
The North Londoners have won all of their five league games so far in 2021-22 in convincing fashion, scoring 19 goals and conceding just twice.
West Ham Women will need to be on top of their game to have a chance of getting a result at the weekend, but Michelle Irons just does not see that happening against such a tough opposition.
She told West Ham Zone: I’m very excited to see how the girls get on against one of the best teams in Europe.
We’ve had a long break and I hope that we’ve been training well and preparing well as this is a huge game for us.
I was planning on attending this game as it was originally scheduled for Saturday but moved to Sunday, which clashes with the men’s fixture.
They’ve really missed a trick here and have missed an opportunity to allow more exposure to the women’s game.
A hard game for us against a team that always performs well when asked.
A prediction from me suggests a long hard fight with a 3-0 loss.
Olli Harder’s side last played on October 13, and the break would not have done the Ironesses a lot of good after the momentum they sustained prior to it.
Nevertheless, they will fancy their chances of making something happen against Arsenal.
With two victories and two draws to their name, the chances of West Ham Women of getting at least a draw cannot be ruled out.
