West Ham weigh up January bid for Mohamed Bayo
West Ham are reportedly weighing up a January offer for Clermont striker Mohamed Bayo, who is valued at £15 million by the Ligue 1 side.
According to Alan Nixon in the Sun (21/11/21, Pg. 61), David Moyes wants an extra striker in the January window and has turned his attention to the 23-year-old.
The Hammers saw a £7 million bid rejected for the Guinea international a year ago, but will now return with a bigger offer credit to funds that Daniel Kretinsky will provide.

Good move
Despite Michail Antonio’s fast start to the season, the Hammers desperately need a striker to aid their top six hopes.
In the Europa League, it’s important that Moyes deploys an out-and-out striker rather than a makeshift one he has recently.
At 23, Bayo is at the age where he would not mind playing a bit-part role before eventually taking over from Antonio in a year or two.
The Clermont sensation has been described as a “powerful” and “pacey” striker, and he will certainly offer a different dimension to this West Ham attack.

Much like Antonio he is tireless and has the ability of bullying defenders and keeping them on their toes for most of the game.
£15million is not too much if West Ham seriously want to challenge for Europe and given how they’ve started this season, it is something that can easily be attained.
