West Ham want PSG left-back Layvin Kurzawa
West Ham United have joined the race for Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa, according to RMC Sport.
The 28-year-old France international wants to leave the Ligue 1 outfit this summer, and Lyon are also keen on making a move for him.
The Hammers want to strengthen at the back before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month, and it remains to be seen whether they can complete a deal for Kurzawa.
Needed?
We have recently brought in Alphonse Areola from PSG on loan, and getting our hands on another player from the French giants would be huge.
West Ham currently have Aaron Cresswell as first-choice left-back, and the 31-year-old could do with fierce competition for his starting berth.
Arthur Masuaku’s frequent injury woes mean he cannot constantly challenge the Englishman, while Ben Johnson does not always look convincing despite his talents.
It is unknown whether manager David Moyes would love to bring in another left-back, but we have struggled to complete deals for a centre-back and striker due to finances, and attempting to strengthen another department apart from those two does not seem to be on the cards.
Kurzawa has four Ligue 1 titles with PSG, but his stats since he joined them from Monaco are not mind-blowing.
A return of six league assists in the last five seasons in a team with such an attacking frontline is not something to boast of, and we should be looking to bring in an upgrade on the options we currently have.
