West Ham vs Millwall ban dragged into conversation as Aston Villa cause outrage
West Ham have been itching for the Dockers Derby since 2012.
As one of the most well-known rivalries in English football, West Ham and Millwall fans are always trying to get one over the other.
Fortunately for the Hammers, West Ham have been in a better position than Millwall for a long time.
Despite both being deprived of the derby for over a decade, West Ham fans still love bantering with Millwall at every opportunity they get, but in 2025, hooliganism is under more scrutiny than ever before.
Maccabi Tel Aviv fans have been stopped from attending their upcoming Europa League clash at Aston Villa, as it has been classed as a “high-risk” fixture amid safety concerns from previous fan violence.
West Ham and Millwall’s notorious fixture has now been highlighted under the same bracket.

Jamie O’Hara says West Ham vs Millwall just as risky
Since Nuno Espirito Santo arrived at West Ham, there’s no doubt he would crave a matchup against Millwall in the FA Cup next year.
However, Jamie O’Hara has spoken on the East London derby live on talkSPORT, while weighing up the situation at Aston Villa.
“Worldwide, football’s for everyone, whatever race, religion, colour, anything. Football’s about, you can go to watch a match, you can enjoy it, you can go home. That’s where my problem is.
West Ham vs Millwall last three fixtures:
- Febuary 2012 – West Ham 2-1 Millwall
- September 2011 Millwall 0‑0 West Ham
- August 2009 West Ham 3‑1 Millwall
“I understand there are issues with security and the high risk of the game, but you know, are we gonna West Ham vs Millwall because that’s a high-risk fixture?
“Well, no, you’re gonna have fans there, and why is this, why has this been allowed to happen? Why are Aston Villa taking that stance?”
With that being said, is there ever going to be another chance for Nuno‘s West Ham to beat Millwall?

West Ham most likely won’t face Millwall any time soon
Millwall have been stuck in the Championship for years now, and do not look like making a Premier League comeback in the near future.
The Hammers’ arch nemesis have found themselves coming up short of the Championship Play-off spots on multiple occasions over the past couple of years.
Millwall currently find themselves eighth in the Championship this season, but inevitably the wheels will fall off as the Dockers Derby will have to wait for now. Unless the football gods bless the Hammers with a dream cup match-up.
