West Ham v Leicester City preview: Team news, where to watch, prediction

Graham Potter is ready to kick on at West Ham United after picking up what was a huge victory against Arsenal last time out in the Premier League.

Jarrod Bowen contributed the only goal of the game away at The Emirates on Saturday (22 February) where the Irons put on a professional display to get three points.

On Thursday, they welcome Leicester City to The London Stadium which they will be expected to win.

Preview

Although supporters were glad to see the back of Julen Lopetegui, Potter’s start to life in East London probably hasn’t been as lively as some would have hoped for.

With the victory against Arsenal on Saturday, Potter recorded his second win in six Premier League games overseeing the Irons.

Leicester City visit London sitting in the relegation zone, five points away from safety meaning the Foxes will be desperate to pick up all three points.

However, a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Brentford on Friday doesn’t give them the best confidence upon a visit to the capital city.

Team News

West Ham will be forced to remain without the services of Lucas Paqueta who picked up an injury in an accident during training recently.

The boss confirmed that Vladimir Coufal had an outside chance of being available for the clash against Leicester but it will still be too soon for Crysencio Summerville who is also injured.

Leicester were without James Justin for their game against Brentford with a foot injury but there is a possibility he could be available.

However, Abdul Fatawu, Harry Souttar and Ricardo Pereira all remain on the sidelines.

Predicted lineups

West Ham: Areola, Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson, Alvarez, Ward-Prowse, Kudus, Bowen, Soler, Ferguson.

Leicester City: Hermansen, Vestergaard, Faes, Okoli, Kristiansen, Ndidi, Soumare, Mavididi, El Khannous, Buonanotte, Vary.

Where to watch?

Thursday’s game is broadcast and is available to watch on TNT Sports 1.

Prediction: West Ham 2-0 Leicester City

After beating Arsenal, there is no excuse for West Ham to come into this game and not get a result.

Leicester are in dire form this season and given the game is at The London Stadium, the Hammers should definitely come out on top of this one.

Potter’s team showed their ability to put in a solid defensive performance on Saturday and therefore, they cannot let their standards drop against a relegation side.
