West Ham urge Kurt Zouma to focus on football amid mental health worries
West Ham and David Moyes have urged defender Kurt Zouma to concentrate on his football amid the ongoing cat saga.
The Frenchman has come under heavy scrutiny since videos were released of him abusing his pet, and missed the clash against Leicester City through a so-called illness
Moyes insisted the problem is still on the 27-year-old’s mind as he prepares for today’s clash with Newcastle United.

“I think he’s probably really disappointed about what he’s done and he’s thinking about it a lot, no doubt, but overall we have tried to get him to move on.” The Scot said as per Claret & Hugh.
Shambolic
West Ham really haven’t covered themselves in glory throughout this whole situation.
What Zouma did was disgusting, completely wrong with absolutely nothing excusing his actions, but the club certainly could have handled it better.
The worries that are still on the Irons centre-back’s mind are undoubtedly due to the huge backlash he has received which was made so much worse by the club’s decision not to drop him.

It was clear why it was done but that was a really stupid move from the club who really should have protected the player rather than being so focused on the football.
That decision saw the backlash on Zouma skyrocket as not only did he do something shocking, there were no immediate consequences for the French international which seemed unjustified in the eyes of the public.
Now they are simply urging him to get over the situation and concentrate on his football when Moyes has clearly stated that he is likely to be struggling mentally and clearly could need some sort of help.
Hopefully, Zouma can soon put all of this behind him and get back to simply playing his football but the club have done him no favours at all.
