West Ham United: Wycombe chief raves about Freddie Potts, makes ‘class act’ admission
Matt Cecil has made an admission about West Ham loanee Freddie Potts and his time at Wycombe Wanderers this season.
The head of media at the League One club tweeted on Thursday (12 October) that the 20-year-old midfielder is a “class act on and off the pitch” after signing for the Chairboys on loan over the summer.
It came after the Hammers academy product told The Athletic in an interview on Thursday that it’s been “one of the best decisions” to join the club.
Invaluable
It was a good decision by Potts to take up the opportunity to go out on loan and gain some invaluable experience in a first-team environment.
It will be pleasing for the West Ham managerial staff to hear that he is enjoying his time with Wycombe and that the club already value him highly.
The midfielder, who is the son of former Hammers favourite Steve Potts, has started 11 games so far this season for the League One outfit, scoring two goals and laying on one assist in 14 appearances.

The youngster has played three times for the Irons senior side, having made his debut for the club in December 2021 against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.
He will be hoping this loan spell will allow him to build up some confidence and put him in a strong position to go and challenge for a place in the East Londoners side next season.
In other West Ham news, Ferdinand has labelled a decision regarding a Hammers star as “crazy”.
