West Ham United wrapping up Gianluca Scamacca deal overnight, could even announce today
West Ham United were wrapping up the signing of Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca overnight, according to the Daily Star on Saturday (23 July).
The newspaper has reported in its print edition [23 July, pg. 49] that David Moyes is even hoping to announce the deal as early as today to kickstart the weekend with a bang.
The Hammers will pay around £34million to secure the move, with the deal starting at around £30million before all of the add-ons get involved later down the line.

Writing in his latest snippet for the Daily Star, Matthew Dunn shared the latest behind the deal as we edge ever closer to seeing our new man in claret and blue.
“West Ham were last night putting the finishing touches on a £34m deal to bring Gianluca Scamacca to the London Stadium,” he wrote.
“Boss David Moyes hopes to announce today the arrival of the Italy striker who scored 16 goals in 36 games Serie A games for Sassuolo.
“Scamacca, 23, was rested from a friendly on Thursday and his agent Alessandro Lucci has been locked in talks with the Hammers over a deal which starts at £30m but has a number of add-ons.”

Finally.
Progress, West Ham United are making their move.
A new striker has been needed for years now, and one is finally arriving at the London Stadium which will play a big role in transforming this squad entirely.
Michail Antonio has been the only out-and-out striker at the club since Sebastien Haller left, and while he has done a good job on the whole, it is starting to clearly take its toll.
Having another goal machine available will make this squad more dangerous than ever, and will prevent us from having to force square pegs into round holes.
Scamacca is expected in London on Monday or Tuesday so the official announcement with media obligations may not be today, but the confirmation could come.
That is enough to get us all excited, and this one is finally on the verge as we look to bring in that new number nine that can hopefully catapult us even further forward.
