West Ham United would struggle for Igor Gomes work permit

West Ham United would struggle to gain a work permit for Sao Paulo attacker Igor Gomes this summer, according to ExWHUemployee.

The Brazilian has been dubbed the next “Kaka” and was linked with a move to the Premier League by Homme du Match.

No bid is said to have been made, and Ex described the move as “very unlikely” to happen in the next three weeks.

Writing on the West Ham Way Patreon at the start of this weekend, Ex shared the update that once again casts a shadow on another target.

“All have been named on the Patreon or podcast before the only one who hasn’t is Igor Gomes the Brazilian who plays for Sao Paulo,” he wrote.

“I have a feeling this deal could be largely agent work rather than any direct approaches but Gomes is a young highly rated talent so could be a good alternative.

“No bid is in and I’m not entirely sure he would get a work permit so at this stage I would say the deal is very unlikely.”

Another off the list.

All we appear to be doing as each day passes is crossing another name off the list of players we could sign during this window.

Gomes looked an exciting talent, but those links were sparked from agent talk and no bid has yet been made by the Irons.

As long as this hunt for a new defender goes on though, there will be no other signings made by GSB.

It is really starting to drag out now, and starting to affect the rest of our plans moving forward throughout the side.

A left-back, central midfielder and another striker are also wanted, but the longer the search for a defender drags on, the more unlikely they look.

Atleast we can all but cross Gomes off the list now.
