West Ham United women’s expert Michelle Irons was delighted with the Hammers’ “well-earned” point against Arsenal in the Women’s Super League.
Paul Konchesky’s side held the Gunners to a 0-0 draw at Victoria Road to cement their position in the middle of the league standings.
Irons was particularly pleased with the second half performance, which saw the Hammers come under considerable pressure.
“The last 10 minutes were shaky for the Hammers. With every attack thwarted, another one came but Paul Konchesky’s side worked so hard to snuff out each one out,” Irons exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“It was like a cup final with players stretching to clear and block the Gunners’ attempts. It could have gone either way but West Ham managed to see out most of the pressure.

“I Really enjoyed this game at home with a big crowd we weren’t intimidated by Arsenal which I’ve seen in the past.
“We held strong was disciplined and opened up the game with some nice touches and fluid attacks. But ultimately Arsenal threw everything at us and we dealt with it professionally. A well earned point.”
West Ham now face a cup game against Manchester United before another WSL fixture against Reading, who currently sit second bottom on just seven points.
However, the Hammers’ Continental Cup campaign came to an abrupt end as Chelsea ran away 7-0 winners on Thursday evening.
