West Ham United winger Armstrong Okoflex attracting interest from host of clubs

West Ham United youngster Armstrong Okoflex is attracting interest from a host of clubs from the Championship and Europe according to Sky Sports.

The 20-year-old Ireland Under-19 international has scored eleven goals in Premier League two this season, as well as notching two assists.

Okoflex’s current deal at the London Stadium runs until the summer of 2023 and Sky Sports reported on Wednesday (22 June, 10:00pm), that the winger could well leave the club this summer.

The winger was on the bench for the Hammers ten times in the 2021/22 campaign but never made an appearance.

Deserves a shot

West Ham should certainly consider a loan move for the youngster, but they shouldn’t risk losing the winger when his contract ends next summer.

He has yet to really taste first-team football in his career and probably deserves a chance to show what he can do at the London Stadium.

He was an integral part of the West Ham under-23 side that came second to Manchester City in the Premier League Two in the 2021/22 season.

That should be an indication that Okoflex certainly has the talent to feature at the highest level, with the PL2 harbouring some of Europe’s best young prospects.

David Moyes clearly rates the 20-year-old, with the West Ham boss including the youngster in his Premier League matchday squad.

It is crucial that the winger continues to play first-team football and isn’t starved of opportunities which would hinder his development.

The Hammers should certainly consider a loan deal for the winger, but also contemplate renewing his contract before its conclusion in the summer of 2023.
