West Ham United want transfer of Brazilian ‘sensation’ Matheus Nascimento with Premier League move on the cards
West Ham are “intrigued” at the prospect of signing 19-year-old forward Matheus Nascimento and are looking to sign the talent who appears to be headed to the Premier League, according to Fichajes.net.
The transfers outlet reported via their website on 26 September that the Hammers are after the Brazilian “sensation” with a switch to Europe considered “imminent”, having shown “specific interest” in him amid various on this side of the Atlantic looking at him.
West Ham are said to “welcome” the possibility of bringing in the youngster who has the “potential to become a star in the future” as they look for new talents to strengthen the squad.

The Botafogo forward’s current contract runs out in just over two years (December 2025) but with attention growing around his next move a switch to the English top flight is now tipped to happen before then.
Ahead of the game?
If Nascimento has as much potential as has been suggested it could be the perfect time for West Ham to snap him up ahead of a major rush.
The Irons were unable to add to their striking options during the summer despite the sale of Gianluca Scamacca after one season at the London Stadium.
Mohammed Kudus’ arrival from Ajax could render that a moot point, but Tim Steidten’s fruitless trip to Brazil to attempt a deal for Yuri Alberto among others shows the club are looking to South America.

The German could be sent out again in the near future if the links to Nascimento are hotting up as suggested, although the price that his club might be looking for is bound to be key to anything happening.
David Moyes famously avoids overspending on players he isn’t certain will pay off so a teenager from the other side of the world without any Premier League experience is the exact sort he wouldn’t want to see a hefty fee go on.
But if the money is reasonable and Steidten is sold on the idea then he may be able to convince the manager, as the pair apparently ended up forming a fruitful partnership during the summer after initial clashes were reported.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are also exploring a deal to strengthen the defence in the January window.
