West Ham United want to sign Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski

West Ham are interested in making a move for Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski this summer, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The Hammers are in the market to sign a player to bolster their midfield and have been linked with the likes of Amadou Onana.

As per the latest report, the London-based club are now interested in making a move for the 28-year-old in the ongoing transfer window.

However, the report further stated that the Serie A side, despite being keen on selling their player, is not willing to let the Poland international go cheaply and the Irons will have to pay a fee in the region of £38 million to secure the midfielder.

Future Face of the Club

There is no doubt that midfield is the biggest question mark for West Ham going into next season. Mark Noble has retired whereas Alex Kral was sent back to Spartak Moscow.

Moreover, there are always doubts about how long Declan Rice will stay at the London Stadium beyond this summer. Therefore, the signing of Zielinski is extremely important.

Even though Poland International prefers to play as an attacking midfielder, the 28-year-old can also play in a more central role.

The reason to play him as a central midfielder is because of the quality he has on the ball. If he is given time on the ball, he will make you pay – his 40 goals are the perfect example of that.

Moreover, Zielinski can also play in a pivot alongside Rice if England International decides to stay at West Ham. He can supply balls into the channels for the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Rice can become the defensive unit which has made him a huge fan favourite at the London Stadium.
