West Ham United want to sign Marcelo Bielsa favourite Sebastian Caceres from Club America
West Ham United are among the clubs interested in signing Club America central defender Sebastian Caceres in January, according to 90min.
Writing on their official website (27 October), the news outlet report that the 24-year-old has attracted interest from several top clubs after his performances for Uruguay in the most recent international window where they drew 2-2 with Colombia before beating Brazil 1-0.
And the Hammers could be prepared to make a move for Marcelo Bielsa’s key man in January as they anticipate transfer moves from Saudi Arabia for current defensive pair Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd.

“90min understands that Man Utd and Tottenham are among the Premier League teams to have watched over Caceres this year, with both on the hunt for defensive reinforcements in the coming transfer windows,” they wrote.
“Newcastle United and West Ham United have also been tracking the centre-back.”
Future proofing
It took a while for David Moyes to get back to where he wanted to be defensively with the addition of Dinos Mavropanos in the summer leaving us with four top central defenders.
Losing Craig Dawson last January was a big blow and left us short, and the Moyes was dealt a blow by not being able to get a deal for Harry Maguire over the line either.

This season we have seen some excellent defensive performances but that has caught the attention of the mega-rich Saudi Arabian league, which means we’re now at risk of losing two key performers.
If that happens we have to be prepared to replace them, and with Maguire now back in the side at Manchester United that deal could potentially fall by the wayside again.
Caceres has clearly impressed Bielsa since he took the national team over which is a hard thing to do, but he has talent and we could get ahead of the big clubs by pulling off a coup and bringing him in early in 2024 to help him develop into the top talent he could well become.
