West Ham United: David Moyes shares Jarrod Bowen update ahead of Fulham match at London Stadium
West Ham boss David Moyes has shared a team news update ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash with Fulham.
The Irons will be looking to bounce back after Thursday’s (11 April) disappointing 2-0 European loss away at Bayer Leverkusen.
Moyes has confirmed that Jarrod Bowen is unlikely to recover in time to play any part against Fulham at London Stadium on Sunday (14 April).
Konstantinos Mavropanos is also doubtful after sustaining a knock at BayArena, as are Alphonse Areola and Kalvin Phillips.
Speaking to reporters on Friday (12 April), as per West Ham’s official website, Moyes said: “We’re only just back [from Germany] today and the players have had a recovery session.
“I don’t think we’ll have Jarrod at the weekend and I’m not sure about Alphonse and Kalvin Phillips. Dinos felt something but I’m not sure if it’s bad or not yet.”
Will Jarrod Bowen play for West Ham v Bayer Leverkusen?
Being without Bowen for the visit of London rivals Fulham was to be expected, even if Moyes has not entirely ruled him out just yet.
The big hope is that the England international is fit enough to play in the second leg against Bayer, whether as a starter or as an impact substitute.
Bowen is vital to the way Moyes sets out the side and his absence was felt in Germany, with the Irons clearly focusing on hitting their opponents on the counter.

With just four days between the Fulham and Bayer games, it does seem unlikely that Bowen will be able to play a full part in the latter.
Areola’s absence is less of a concern given how well Lukasz Fabianski performed in the first leg of that Europa League quarter-final, while United can also cope without Mavropanos and Phillips.
Before focus can turn to that Bayer second leg, though, West Ham must first focus on picking up all three points against Fulham this weekend.
In other West Ham news, the Irons are reportedly ready to offer a player from a fellow Premier League club a “lucrative” contract.
