West Ham United v Wolves player ratings: Michail Antonio disappoints as David Moyes faces tricky future

Michail Antonio was one of the worst players on the pitch as West Ham suffered yet another Premier League defeat on 14 January.

The Hammers visited fellow relegation candidates Wolves hoping to get the right result but ended up losing the game 1-0.

They now find themselves in 18th position in the Premier League while their opponents have now moved up to 16th.

West Ham

Here are our player ratings for the game:

Lukasz Fabianski – 6

Wasn’t much he could do to stop the goal from being conceded and made six saves all game. He made a couple of crucial claims too and looked assured of his 18-yard area.

Vladimir Coufal – 3

Another torrid outing for the right-back who just does not seem to be taking the countless opportunities he’s been given by the manager. He didn’t win a single aerial duel and also had a pass accuracy of less than 70 per cent in the game.

Angelo Ogbonna – 4

The Italian was in poor form going into the game and starting him seemed to be a mistake before kick off. He did very little to silence his critics and he’s lucky that the scoreline wasn’t any worse.

Nayef Aguerd – 6

Was one of the better West Ham players on the day. He was inch-perfect with his passing and did his best to keep the Wolves attack at bay. He also made three crucial blocks and as many clearances all game and was let down by his teammates.

Aaron Cresswell – 3

The English left-back looked completely lost in the game and was responsible for allowing the hosts to score from an attacking corner. He’s clearly past it and Moyes cannot continue to justify his inclusion.

West Ham

Lucas Paqueta – 5

Just does not look to be the same player at West Ham as he was at the World Cup or even at AC Milan. His talent is there for everyone to see but he’s not able to influence games in any way and failed to do much against Wolves either.

Declan Rice – 7

Every week it appears to be the same thing – the rest of the Hammers players underperform and Rice remains the only consistent performer. He kept asking for the ball and spraying long passes and dictated the tempo of the game well whenever his side had the ball. He won all of his aerial duels and four out five attempted ones on the ground and did his job to the T.

Tomas Soucek – 4

Another underwhelming display from Soucek and was deservedly taken off. It came as a surprise to many that he wasn’t withdrawn earlier. He rarely got on the ball and managed to just attempt 12 passes out of which he could complete just eight.

Jarrod Bowen – 4

The Englishman is another player whose performance has dipped this season and eventually the manager is going to be blamed for it. Like most of his teammates, he did not know where to be or what to do and this was certainly unacceptable for the extremely high standards he’s set for himself.

West Ham United

Michail Antonio – 2

A woeful performance from the Jamaican who clearly played like his head was not in the game. He failed to get a single shot on target and completed just seven passes all game. At no point did he look like being the difference maker for the Hammers.

Pablo Fornals – 4

Playing on the left, he failed to create too much of an impact, just like Bowen. He lost possession on 16 occasions and failed to complete a single cross into the box for Antonio to get his head on.

Said Benrahma – 5

Gianluca Scamacca – 4
