Stan Collymore predicts scoreline of West Ham United v Liverpool for talkSPORT
Stan Collymore has predicted West Ham will fall to a 3-1 defeat against Liverpool in Saturday’s (27 April) Premier League contest.
Both sides need to respond after disappointing defeats last time out – United losing 5-2 at Crystal Palace and Liverpool going down 2-0 to Everton.
West Ham have a poor record in this fixture, not least this season as they have already lost 3-1 and 5-1 to Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League and EFL Cup respectively.
Sharing his prediction for the game on talkSPORT [26 April], Collymore said: “Liverpool need a reaction after the Merseyside derby.
“They’ve done that well this season. I’ll go 3-1 Liverpool.”
West Ham United record v Liverpool
Not only have the Irons lost by an aggregate score of 8-2 to Liverpool this season, they have lost each of the past five encounters and nine of the past 10.
In fact, United have lost 12 of their past 14 Premier League matches against the Reds. The only positive is that the only two exceptions came in home games – a 1-1 draw in February 2019 and 3-2 win in November 2021.

Of more concern to under-fire David Moyes will be that the Irons’ only win in their past eight most recent home games this season came against Brentford in February, having drawn five and lost two in that run.
Liverpool’s title aspirations are now hanging by a thread after their midweek loss to Everton, so this is very much a match between two sides that could seriously do with a morale-boosting victory.
If Liverpool play like they did against Everton, and the Irons play like we know they can, then there is no reason why an upset cannot be on the cards.
