West Ham United v Everton Premier League clash should go ahead next weekend

West Ham United’s next Premier League fixture against Everton should go ahead, according to Claret and Hugh.

All football was postponed over the weekend (10/11 September) as a mark of respect to the late Queen Elizabeth II after her death in midweek.

Claret and Hugh suggest (11 September) that club insiders are growing in confidence that the fixture will go ahead with the Queen’s funeral taking place on Monday 19 September.

It’s also understood that West Ham’s game against Silkeborg in the UEFA Conference League will go ahead as planned on Thursday (15 September).

Break at a good time

With the international break around the corner, the Hammers could face a stop-start couple of weeks, but this may have come at a good time for David Moyes.

The Hammers have added a number of new players to their ranks over the course of the summer and there will undoubtedly be a number of new connections and partnerships that need to build at the club.

West Ham’s transfer business went right to the very end of the window after the Premier League was already underway and that could be a reason for their slow start.

West Ham

Moyes now has time to work with his squad and try and build relationships that can be so crucial in a successful side.

Thilo Kehrer has looked promising in the early stages of his career at the London Stadium and if he can build on his relationship with Kurt Zouma, then West Ham could have a formidable defence.

The same goes for the likes of Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca with the rest of Moyes’ attacking players.
