West Ham United twist issued by Fabrizio Romano as Liverpool held Ruben Amorim talks

West Ham made an approach to hire the Liverpool-linked Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim to replace David Moyes, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Sky Sports journalist reported that while the Reds held talks with the Portuguese manager but failed to reach an agreement with him.

While there is concrete interest and an approach from the Hammers, there has been no agreement reached yet.

Via Twitter, Romano wrote: “Rúben Amorim and Liverpool never had any agreement done/sealed. Talks took place as candidate on club’s list but it wasn’t agreed.

“West Ham approached Amorím, as called by David_Ornstein — nothing done/agreed also in this case.

“Contacts with #LFC in stand-by at this stage.”

West Ham given golden Ruben Amorim opportunity as Liverpool cool interest

Liverpool cooling their interest in Amorim presents the Hammers with a golden opportunity to secure the highly-coveted manager.

With Liverpool’s pursuit of Amorim seemingly on hold, the Irons face less competition in their quest to appoint him as a replacement for Moyes.

This situation could expedite West Ham’s negotiations with Amorim, potentially leading to a swift agreement.

The absence of Liverpool in the race for Amorim’s signature allows them to focus on convincing the Sporting CP manager to join their project.

Without the lure of Liverpool’s history and recent successes, the London club can emphasise the unique challenges and opportunities their club presents.

This could be a decisive factor in Amorim’s decision-making process.

Furthermore, the cooling interest from Liverpool may prompt Amorim to consider the London Stadium as a more viable option.

If Liverpool had remained in the race, it could have created doubts about the stability and long-term prospects of a move to the capital.

In other West Ham news, the club have been handed a major boost in appointing David Moyes’ replacement as a manager has made his future intentions clear.
