West Ham United transfer target Aaron Wan-Bissaka ‘has a future’ at Manchester United – Erik ten Hag
West Ham United transfer target Aaron Wan-Bissaka “has a future” at Manchester United after his impressive performance in the EFL Cup, according to Erik ten Hag and as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
The right-back started in United’s 2-0 victory over Burnley on Wednesday evening (21 December) and provided a fabulous assist for Christian Eriksen in the first half.
David Moyes’ side had previously been linked with the former England Under-21 star and were reportedly holding talks with United about a possible loan-to-buy deal. [90min]

However, Ten Hag may have had a change of heart about the 25-year-old, who was previously destined for the Old Trafford exit gates in January.
Romano tweeted: “Ten Hag: “Aaron Wan-Bissaka has a future. He has had some good years at Man United, but from the start of this season, he has had a lot of illnesses and injuries.
“From the restart on, he is fit, so he could train with the team, and you see him progressing”.”
Frustrating for West Ham
This brilliant performance by Wan-Bissaka couldn’t have come at a worse time for Moyes as he desperately looks for defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window.
Many clubs had been put off the right-back due to his poor performances at the back end of last season, but his stunning display against Burnley suggests the talent is still there – but just needs nurturing.
Either way, Manchester United will have plenty more clubs interested in Wan-Bissaka’s signature, and they can slap an extra £5-10 million onto his price tag if they wish.
The Hammers need to gauge if the right-back is a realistic target in January, and if he isn’t, move on to an alternative instead. The right-back position is a huge problem for Moyes, with Vladimir Coufal likely to leave in January and Harrison Ashby also linked with a move to Newcastle United.
If West Ham were to lose these two players and fail to replace them with Wan-Bissaka, or somebody of his ilk, the team could well struggle during the second half of the season.
