West Ham United transfer offer in for Denis Zakaria with Juventus decision claim made

West Ham have reportedly submitted a loan offer for Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria as they appear keen to kick-start their summer.

According to Corriere Dello Sport [3 July, Page 4], the Old Lady will now decide on whether or not to accept the Hammers’ proposal.

They allowed him to leave temporarily for Chelsea and that move did not pan out as they would’ve wanted to.

Loan only makes sense

Zakaria proved that he could not handle the rigours of being a Premier League midfielder as it requires skill and tenacity.

At Juventus, he wasn’t used to players constantly pressing him and his physicality wasn’t tested as much as as it was in the Premier League.

However, if the Hammers sign him on loan without guaranteeing him a starting berth, he could be a valuable addition to the squad depth.

He cannot be one of the midfielders signed to make up for Declan Rice’s absence as he just cannot play that role for the Hammers.

It’s not going to be easy finding the ideal replacement but Zakaria is certainly not the man for the job.

It remains to be seen what plans David Moyes has by sanctioning such moves in the transfer window.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are already preparing to cash in on the Declan Rice money as they hold a transfer meeting in London as they’re confident of sealing a £50million signing.
