West Ham United transfer news: Tim Steidten locked on to Zaidu Sanusi as David Moyes actively pushes for new signing
Zaidu Sanusi has emerged as a prime name in the frame as West Ham line up a left-back signing for the January window, according to TEAMtalk.
The outlet reported via their website on 26 November that David Moyes is “actively pushing” for a new arrival at the position in the New Year and the Porto man has impressed Hammers scouts who are “working hard on a number of potential options”.
Nigeria international Sanusi was linked in the summer window and is said to be a long-term favourite of Tim Steidten with the 26-year-old now “watched closely” by the German technical director.

After an injury absence the defender returned to action earlier this month, where West Ham are believed to have been in attendance for his first two games back.
Ongoing question
West Ham are surely going to have to sign a left-back eventually having been linked to making a move at the position for a series of windows now, even after bringing Emerson in from Chelsea two summers ago.
Aaron Cresswell has repeatedly been tipped to leave the club but with nobody acquired to replace him he currently remains at the London Stadium.
Sanusi has extensive experience in Europe and has won a series of trophies with the Portuguese giants so could be a solid addition to the Irons.

If Steidten likes him as much as he is reported to then that surely heightens the chances of the Porto man being the top choice in January, and potentially beyond if they can’t get him in the upcoming window.
Moyes is once again resurgent after two come-back Premier League victories in a row but the Scot’s future remains unclear, certainly beyond the expiry of his current contract in the summer.
Steidten however appears to be firmly established at the club now so if the German is a fan of Sanusi then there is every chance the club make a push to bring him in.
In other West Ham news, confidence is said to be growing that Lucas Paqueta’s investigation may be heading in the right direction for the Brazilian.
