West Ham United transfer news: Moise Kean wants Premier League return after Everton spell as Fulham, Crystal Palace also linked

West Ham have been highlighted as a prime possibility as Moise Kean is “very determined” to investigate a return to the Premier League with a London club this month, by Dean Jones.

The journalist reported for Sport Lens on 15 January that the former Everton striker has been made available for a loan before the January window shuts, and has offers in Europe already.

But the Italian is instead looking to move back to England, specifically in the capital, with the likes of Fulham and Crystal Palace, as well as Chelsea and Arsenal currently in need of help up front.

In noting the Irons’ possible candidacy Jones wrote: “West Ham are scouring Europe for options but have not yet identified an ideal candidate, with caution being taken to their spending right now.”

Emergency help?

With no goals from 12 appearances so far this season it doesn’t immediately look like Kean, still only 23, is the answer to David Moyes’ lack of options up front.

The 15-cap international struggled at Goodison Park after a £27.5million move in 2019 [Sky Sports], scoring just four times in all competitions in 39 appearances before a loan with Paris Saint-Germain and return to Juventus.

However, given the alternative at the London Stadium right now is the equally goal-shy Danny Ings it is possible that Kean’s availability and affordability might convince the club to take a chance for the upcoming months.

West Ham

In theory it might free up Ings to leave for Wolves and provide something of a budget to spend this month, with the former Aston Villa man’s exit otherwise halted in light of injuries to Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen among others.

Kean hasn’t hit double figures since scoring 17 in all competitions for PSG three seasons ago but did find the net six times in Serie A last term, largely off the bench.

He is unlikely to be the long-term answer to anything at West Ham and his desire to return to the Premier League in London may be wishful thinking on his part, but with the Irons caught between a rock and hard place during the January window there may be some mileage in an emergency deal for the rest of the season if there aren’t any viable alternatives.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have made a decision on one of the best young options in the world this month.
