West Ham United transfer news: Fresh twist emerges in Declan Rice pursuit amid Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United links

West Ham reportedly do not like the structure of terms offered by Arsenal for Declan Rice amid links to Manchester City and Manchester United.

According to BBC journalist Simon Stone, despite the Hammers’ reservations over the Gunners offer, he appears to be getting closer to an exit.

The Guardian reported on 27 June that both Manchester City and Manchester United are still in the race to sign the 24-year-old.

Stone wrote on Twitter, “Understand West Ham still have reservations around structure of latest Arsenal bid for Declan Rice. Getting nearer though.”

Getting closer in what way?

It’s baffling to see it being framed this way as the Hammers still do not agree with Arsenal’s payment terms.

If they did, then he would be nearer to a move to the Emirates Stadium but City are just as much in it as the Gunners.

They’ve also got more money and Pep Guardiola will be wary about not letting his nearest title rivals sign one of Europe’s best midfielders.

They also will need someone to replace Ilkay Gundogan and Rice has proven that he can thrive in a more advanced role as well.

He’s a better ball carrier than the German and could quickly adapt to the style of play Guardiola wants at the Etihad.

However, at Arsenal, he will be a guaranteed starter playing in his primary position – where he’s become among the best in the world.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are already preparing to cash in on the Declan Rice money as they hold a transfer meeting in London as they’re confident of sealing a £50million signing.
