West Ham United transfer news as Torino talks to continue in next days to seal Nikola Vlasic exit

West Ham United are set to continue talks over the next week with Serie A outfit Torino to find an agreement for the sale of Nikola Vlasic, according to Sport Italia.

The Croatian international spent the 22/23 campaign on a season-long loan at the Serie A club, where he made 30 appearances in all competitions, and registered five goals and four assists.

With the loan deal coming to a close on Friday [30 June], Italian outlet Calciomercato reported on 27 June that Torino had presented an offer worth €9million [£7.7m] for the Croatian and are awaiting West Ham’s response.

And according to a latest report from Sport Italia [29 June], the two parties are set to continue talks over the coming days to find an agreement on the transfer and discuss Torino’s latest offer, with Vlasic wanting to continue his career at the Serie A side.

It is believed that West Ham United are demanding €13million [£11.2m] despite the €15million loan agreement for the attacker to follow Declan Rice out of the club.

Departure inevitable

West Ham United will be undergoing much change next season, and one of the biggest factors of that change will be letting fringe stars go. Unfortunately, Vlasic looks set to be on that list given his difficulties at the London Stadium.

The Croatian international only registered one goal and two assists for the East Londoners, tallies he has already surpassed in Italy, with four goals and five assists last season.

It’s clear he’s been enjoying life in Italy, and it’s only right the Hammers should look to come to a swift agreement so both parties can move on amicably.

Vlasic is a quality player on his day, and even those numbers he’s pulled up in Italy aren’t reflective of his creative abilities – something West Ham United saw in him when they bought him for £26.8m in 2021 [BBC Sport].

It’s only a matter of time before his inevitable departure is agreed. £11.2m is an impressive fee to receive for a player deemed surplus to requirements.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are now in pole position to land a Premier League-established winger with a £40m price tag on his head.
