West Ham United transfer news as Pablo Fornals could be set to depart
West Ham United want to cash out on midfielder Pablo Fornals this summer in another possible London Stadium exit, according to The Guardian.
The Spaniard has been linked on numerous occasions with a move back to his native country, with Spanish publication AS reporting on their website Saturday (19 August) that Sevilla are now eyeing up a move for the Hammers attacker having “surveyed” his situation.
According to the report, Fornals could be available for between €5million and €8million [£4.27m-£6.84m] with just one year left on his contract at the club.
And according to The Guardian (21 August), the Hammers may look to cash on Fornals as they look to fund a deal for Mohammed Kudus.
Exit possible
Following the departures of Declan Rice, Gianluca Scamacca, Manuel Lanzini and Nikola Vlasic, there could well be more exits on the cards and Fornals looks to be at the top of that list.
The Spaniard has proven a crucial tool for Moyes on several occasions over the past two campaigns but with his contract having just a year to run, the East Londoners could well be tempted to cash in on him this summer.
West Ham United are currently working on a deal to sign Ajax midfielder Kudus but are currently unable to agree a fee with the Dutch giants to sign him and a Fornals exit could well fund that exciting transfer move.
The decision certainly rests with the Irons, but are they willing to allow Fornals to run his contract down and possibly lose him for free? That’s an option that could prove rather costly in the long run given the Spaniard is now very much reaching his prime years.
Does he have a permanent place in Moyes team even if the club can’t secure the services of Kudus? Should their move for the Ghanaian prove impossible then Fornals could yet remain at the club, but should the opportunity present itself, the 27-year-old could yet prove to be another casualty before the transfer window comes to a close.
