West Ham United transfer news as Nikola Vlasic set to undergo Torino medical after £11m deal agreed

West Ham United have agreed a deal with Serie A side Torino for the sale of attacker Nikola Vlasic, according to Sky Sports News.

According to the report (7 August), the two clubs have agreed a fee of around £11m with the Croatian international now set to jet out of the UK for a medical on Tuesday 8 August to seal his long-awaited move.

Tuttomercatoweb reported on 4 August that David Sullivan had got involved in discussions to sale Vlasic and had asked for a fee of around £10.3m but the Hammers have managed to receive £11m with Vlasic now set to follow Gianluca Scamacca to Serie A after his confirmed £28m move to Atalanta [WHUFC official site, 7 August].

Good riddance

The Irons have already lost three players this summer, including Rice and are yet to bring in a single player through the door at the London Stadium, although they have reached an agreement with Ajax for the signing of Edson Alvarez.

It is the first major acquisition from the Hammers this summer, with the Premier League campaign kicking off this summer but the East Londoners certainly needed to rid of some deadwood with Vlasic the biggest of the lot.

West Ham

It’s a shame how Scamacca’s time in East London is coming to an end, but not so much Vlasic’s.

The Croatian international only registered one goal and two assists for the East Londoners, tallies he surpassed in Italy, with four goals and five assists last season.

Much excitement and anticipation was made when the Croatian joined the club in 2021 but it’s clear his move didn’t work with Vlasic struggling to adjust to the rigours of the Premier League, hence his loan to Torino last year.

The Croatian was certainly hell-bent on returning to the Serie A side this summer and has certainly now got his wish for which the West Ham United fans will be screaming good riddance to a player who never looked anywhere near worth the £26m they paid two years ago.

In other West Ham news, the Irons are surely well positioned to seal the signing of this burgeoning £15m Manchester City talent.
