West Ham United transfer news as Manchester City Lucas Paqueta bid confirmation made
David Moyes has confirmed that West Ham have received an offer for midfielder Lucas Paqueta from Manchester City.
However, the Scotsman claims it’s not where the Hammers value the Brazil international and have thus decided not to accept it.
The Irons have already lost Declan Rice for big money this summer and want to be compensated heavily if they are to sell the 26-year-old as well.
Moyes said, “We’ve received an offer from Manchester City for Paquetá. At the moment it’s not anywhere near meeting our valuation.”
Big money or he stays?
West Ham appear to be in a pretty comfortable situation here as they can quote a high price for the Brazilian and see if City match it.
It’s evident that they did not expect to lose Paqueta this summer so news of City coming in and him wanting to leave has come as a surprise.
Declan Rice’s intentions to leave were known for a while and the club could thus plan for his exit and see if a bidding war could be sparked.

Paqueta knows that with the new season starting, he’s still a West Ham player and leaving now on his terms will be difficult.
West Ham can wait and see if City are willing to offer close to what they were for Rice or they can continue with the Brazilian being a part of the team for this season.
The Hammers have already signed Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse is expected through the door pretty soon.
In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
