West Ham United transfer news as Jesse Lingard to remain at Rush Green until decision made
Jesse Lingard will continue training at West Ham United until a decision is made about his future, according to GOAL.
The publication reported on its website on Monday (14 August) that the attacker will either strike a deal with the Hammers or find another club.
According to Sky Sports (14 August), the former Manchester United man is currently training with the Hammers to keep his fitness up.
“The former United man will continue training at the West Ham facilities for the time being until either a deal can be reached between the player and the Hammers, or he finds other opportunities for his talent,” according to GOAL.
Worth a shot?
Is it worth a shot from the Hammers to bring Lingard back to the club? The attacker shone during his loan spell in claret and blue a few years ago with nine goals and five assists in 16 appearances.
He was a revelation in East London, but broke many West Ham hearts by not making a permanent move to the club.
Lingard is now seemingly only back to maintain his fitness levels as the new season gets underway, with the free agent undoubtedly having plenty of offers on the table.
The Hammers aren’t exactly too light when it comes to attacking options, with the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma all available to David Moyes.
But the London Stadium outfit may soon be in need of such a player if star man Paqueta ends up making a switch to Manchester City, with the Premier League champions seemingly keen on his signature.
