West Ham United transfer news as Arsenal make Declan Rice paperwork promise in new twist

West Ham United have been promised the paperwork for the transfer of Declan Rice to Arsenal will be delivered and signed tomorrow, according to Sky Sports News.

Arsenal and West Ham United reached a full agreement over the £105 million transfer of Declan Rice over a week ago and it was reported that the Hammers were growing frustrated with how long the deal was taking.

The move is expected to be officially announced either by Friday or Saturday, 15 July, with the England international then joining the Gunners’ pre-season training.

And in another twist in the Rice saga this summer, Arsenal have promised West Ham that they will look to deliver and sign the paperwork on Friday (14 July), with the hold-up being caused by delays with paperwork being drawn up by Arsenal’s lawyers, according to Sky Sports.

Frustrating

The West Ham United frustration at the delay is perfectly understandable given the club desperately want to move on from Rice, respectfully, and seek to replacement in the coming weeks.

With the season now just a month away, David Moyes and the club now have four weeks to ensure that the squad is ready and well-placed to kick off their season in the right tone.

For that to happen, the club will need replacements for Rice and additions in other areas fairly quickly, and that is no small task with the England international sure to leave a gaping hole in the West Ham United midfield.

Moyes may well be tempted to add two or three midfielders to his ranks, especially with Rice’s partner Tomas Soucek also looking likely to leave.

Can the Hammers get much of their business done over the next few weeks? It’s incredibly difficult to predict, but this ongoing Rice saga has definitely thrown a spanner in the works. Let’s hope it’s done in the expected time frame.
