West Ham United transfer news as Arsenal bid for Declan Rice rejected
West Ham have rejected Arsenal’s opening bid for midfield ace Declan Rice, according to a report from ExWHUemployee.
Ex noted that the opening offer for the 24-year-old is believed to be £80million along with £10million in add ons.
But the report added that the figure is below what the Hammers want for their captain and has, therefore, been turned down.

“We can confirm that Arsenal have made their first offer for Declan Rice but we have rejected it,” Ex wrote on Patreon.
“The offer is thought to be £80million with £10million add ons. This offer is below what West Ham think is acceptable and has been turned down.
“It is usual practice for a club to start their offers below the amount they are prepared to go up to.”

Standard practice
These two Premier League giants will be well aware of how such deals are carried out these days, with Arsenal lowballing West Ham in these early stages, which the Hammers were probably expecting.
The East London outfit will undoubtedly be happy to continue in this manner until they finally feel valued, with West Ham in no rush whatsoever to sell their star asset, particularly for a lower fee than planned.
All the pressure is, therefore, on the Gunners and manager Mikel Arteta, who won’t want any fuss in the proceedings.
More importantly, the Spaniard will want to bring the player to the Emirates as soon as possible, in order to have as much time together before the new campaign gets underway.
It will soon be time for Hammers fans to say farewell to their beloved skipper, but it seems that they can keep hold of him for a tiny bit longer after this latest development.
