West Ham United: Thilo Kehrer being eyed for transfer by Inter Milan

West Ham United defender Tihlo Kehrer is being eyed for a transfer by Italian giants Inter Milan, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport – pg 16, 30 January.

The report claims that Kehrer was offered to Inter in the summer by Paris Saint-Germain, a deal which subsequently never took place.

Now, Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that Kehrer’s potential transfer to Inter is an “evolution” that must be followed with his name popping up on their radar yet again.

“For an outright deal. The third lead is an old acquaintance of Ausilio: Thilo Kehrer. Curiously, it was offered by PSG to Inter last summer precisely as part of the chats for Skriniar,” as quoted by La Gazzetta Dello Sport – pg 16, 30 January.

“Meanwhile Kehrer landed in Premier League, to West Ham. But the employment of him the performance of him. It’s a track to take into consideration, the name has been at Inter again in the last few hours and the evolution must be followed.”

Tempting offer.

With West Ham United in the midst of a relegation battle and likely no European football to offer Kehrer next season, a move to the San Siro could be tempting for the German.

The 26-year-old only joined last season at the London Stadium but if Inter goes all out for his signature he could force his way out of the Hammers.

Nevertheless, after losing Craig Dawson to Wolves already this month, the Hammers would likely block any attempts from the Italian giants for Kehrer.

Additional squad depth is always handy to have, especially with the Hammers’ poor injury record and UEFA Europa Conference League games to take into account.

Kehrer however, is prone to an error and this is something that the club should take into account if a sizeable bid did come their way for him.

This may be a transfer story to keep an eye on in the coming days, but nothing will likely transpire from it until the summer months.
