West Ham United target Ben Brereton Diaz wants out of Blackburn amid 'huge' £10m news

Blackburn Rovers could face a “huge” decision in January should a £10million bid come in for West Ham United target Ben Brereton Diaz, according to 90min.

It’s understood Diaz has informed the Ewood Park hierarchy of his desire to leave the club in the summer when his contract reaches its conclusion.

90min report (8 November) that West Ham, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Leeds, Everton and Wolves have all shown an interest in the 23-year-old.

There’s also interest from Europe in the forward and if a bid of £10million comes in, Blackburn could be forced to sell regardless of the impact on their promotion push.

Unlikely

This seems like an unlikely one for David Moyes to pursue, with the Hammers well-stocked in the striker department after the arrival of Gianluca Scamacca in the summer. If Brereton Diaz was to join, he would not be Moyes’ first choice. Considering half of the Premier League are eying the Blackburn man, this move does also look like a hard one to pull off.

This season has really not gone to plan for Moyes with the Hammers just two points above the relegation zone in the Premier League. The international break could well come at a good time, with the West Ham boss still struggling to get the best out of his team.

Another midfielder could well be a priority in January along with another creative player, with Pablo Fornals and Manuel Lanzini not featuring as much as they have done in previous seasons. Whether the West Ham board will be willing to give Moyes another large transfer kitty remains to be seen.

The Hammers have already been linked with Middlesborough winger Isaiah Jones (Football League World, 27 October), as the club look to have a fast start to the winter window.
