West Ham United talks with Jesse Lingard are 'still going' ahead of potential summer move - Alex Crook

TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has insisted that “conversations are still going” between West Ham and Jesse Lingard.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at Manchester United at the end of the season and has been linked to several clubs with the forward set to leave Old Trafford.

Despite tracking the England international for over a year, a move abroad looks more likely for Lingard but David Moyes has not given up yet.

Crook told GIVEMESPORT: “There has been talk of a move abroad previously.

“I think that, at the moment, would look more likely than West Ham but, I’m sure, conversations are still going on in the background, and they have been for about the last year or so.”

No brainer.

The Lingard rumours are getting increasingly tedious – if West Ham wants him, they need to get the deal over the line as soon as possible and put an end to the constant rumours.

Given his form when he was on loan at the London Stadium last season, the Irons should without doubt make a move for the attacker.

He was by far their best player during the half a season he spent with the Hammers and would be a great addition to the squad.

Having played in the World Cup and Champions League, the former Derby loanee is a player with great experience and that will be needed as the east Londoners look to build on the momentum gained this campaign.

This is a low-risk move considering the fact he has already established himself amongst this squad and is an experienced Premier League player.

There are some question marks over his age but he is free at the end of the day and the club can put him on a deal relative to his age – it is a no brainer.

In other West Ham news, Martin Samuel has responded to the latest West Ham London Stadium developments dubbing it the “deal of the century”.
