West Ham United survey shows what position 62.1% of fans want improved despite summer transfer
West Ham United fans have revealed what position they think still needs strengthening after the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.
Writing on their website [6 September] the news outlet reported that a “whopping” 62.1 per cent of Hammers supporters feel the side needs another forward despite the signing of Niclas Fullkrug.
The Athletic conducted a survey, in which the fans feel a long-term replacement is needed for Michael Antonio. The 34-year-old has started all three Premier League matches this season under Julen Lopetegui.

West Ham United supporters want another attacker
The West Ham faithful were treated to an exciting summer transfer window in which Tim Steidten oversaw the arrivals of 10 new players at the London Stadium to mark the new era under Lopetegui.
It has been a tricky start to life in East London for the Spaniard with two defeats in the opening three matches in the Premier League against Champions League opposition in Aston Villa and Manchester City.
The Hammers have, however, scored in every match this term but zero goal returns from Antonio is a cause for concern with Fullkrug waiting in the wings for his full Premier League debut.
West Ham are blessed with attacking options, Jarrad Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, and Mohammed Kudus are all exceptional talents. They have the quality to fire the Irons towards the top end of the league table but there is no doubting a focal point of the attack is needed to be the crown jewel of the attack.

At 6ft 2in, the German possesses the physical qualities to spearhead the Irons’ attack, his aerial ability and hold-up play will prove vital to the attack. Fullkrug will help the other attackers get into the game and add to the array of set-piece threats on display at the club.
West Ham supporters should reserve their transfer criticism for now, the jury is still out on the new signings and Lopetegui has no immediate need to enter the transfer market in January for a forward with an acclaimed Bundesliga and Germany star at his disposal.
