West Ham United submit ‘improved’ bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Thilo Kehrer

West Ham have submitted a second offer to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Thilo Kehrer, as per Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist wrote on Twitter on 10 August that the Hammers have come up with an “improved” offer after their opening bid was rejected.

Sheth reported on 9 August that the Hammers have tabled an opening offer for the German international, as they look to replace the outgoing Issa Diop this week.

Get it done

West Ham need to make some signings before the end of the transfer window, and adding a defender to their ranks has become a priority.

The injury to simmer signing Nayef Aguerd has disrupted their transfer plans. At the moment, David Moyes is left with Kurt Zouma as the only recognised centre-back, with Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson not fully fit enough to return to action.

Moyes is keen to land another centre-back and a left-back to the squad and Kehrer has become a viable option.

West Ham

The former Schalke defender joined PSG in 2018 and has made over 125 appearances for the club.

He has got loads of experience, and at 25, his best years are ahead of him. It’s a calculated move from the Hammers, and their second offer shows that they are desperate to land him.

Having missed out on Amadou Onana, it seems Moyes doesn’t want to miss out on yet another player from PSG this summer.
